2. The service

Benchpro is available to scientists and organisations worldwide. It helps scientists build evidence-backed professional profiles by claiming capabilities demonstrated in their publications and obtaining review or verification from co-authors. It also helps organisations discover scientific talent. Profiles and discovery or search results may be public and may include information obtained from public scholarly sources.

The service is currently free of charge, and Benchpro does not collect payments.

Artificial intelligence assists publication ingestion, extraction, classification, profile generation, and search. AI output does not itself verify a capability or contribution; verification records reflect the applicable Benchpro workflow and human responses, not an independent certification by Benchpro.

Use of the service is governed by the Terms. Information about the processing of personal data is available in the Privacy Policy.

The only cookie Benchpro currently uses is the strictly necessary _benchpro_key session and security cookie.

3. Intellectual property

Unless otherwise stated, the Benchpro name, branding, website design, original software, and original content created for the service are owned by the operator or used with permission.

Scientific publications, publication metadata, user submissions, profile information, trade marks, and other third-party materials remain the property of their respective owners or are made available under their applicable licences. Their appearance on Benchpro does not transfer ownership to Benchpro.

Nothing on this website grants a licence to use Benchpro’s intellectual property except as expressly permitted by the Terms or applicable law.

4. User and third-party content

Benchpro may display information supplied by users or obtained from third-party scientific-information sources. Responsibility for claims, contributions, and other user-provided content is governed by the Terms.

Links to third-party websites are provided for convenience and context. Benchpro does not control those websites and is not responsible for their availability, content, or privacy practices.

5. Informational nature and availability

Scientific profiles, capability classifications, verification records, search results, and AI-assisted outputs are provided for informational and professional-discovery purposes. They should not be used as the sole basis for employment, funding, collaboration, credentialing, clinical, or other high-impact decisions. Users and organisations remain responsible for independent interviews, reference checks, credential checks, regulatory checks, and other appropriate due diligence.

Benchpro is not a recruitment agency, employer, university, research institution, professional regulator, or credentialing body.

Benchpro aims to keep the service available and its information accurate, but does not guarantee uninterrupted availability or that all content will always be complete, current, or error-free. Nothing in this Legal Notice excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

6. Governing law and jurisdiction

This Legal Notice is governed by Portuguese law, without prejudice to any mandatory rights or jurisdiction rules that apply to users.

Where legally permitted, disputes relating to this website or Legal Notice are subject to the courts of Coimbra, Portugal.
